Thank you for supporting Alaska Sea Grant

The response to our call for support has been incredible. We are grateful to everyone who has voiced their support for Alaska Sea Grant and the work we do across the state. Your partnership helps strengthen coastal communities, protects marine ecosystems, and build a skilled workforce for Alaska’s fisheries and marine industries.

Supporters highlight the unique and essential role Alaska Sea Grant plays. As one person noted, the program “is a conduit to a variety of fisheries-related agencies, academic programs and interest groups/stakeholders.” Another shared, “Programs and resources that Alaska Sea Grant has developed over the years have benefited commercial fishing communities all over the country. They are an inspiring and dedicated team that deserves ongoing support to benefit Alaskans and others across the nation.”

Alaska Sea Grant engages youth and teaches stewardship. One person wrote, “We strongly believe in the efforts of the Alaska Sea Grant program. Not only is it cleaning our beaches from marine debris, but this program involves our youth and teaches them the importance of present and future stewardship of the waters that support our subsistence lives.”

Collaboration is key in Alaska Sea Grant’s work—bringing people together to share knowledge and help build industries. As one supporter said, “The farmer training, knowledge sharing programs Alaska Sea Grant put forth is crucial in the development of Alaska’s mariculture industry. Nearly every new farmer in the last four years has been to one or multiple of these events. They are the model of industry development.”

Thank you for helping ensure Alaska Sea Grant continues its mission for Alaska’s communities, ecosystems and economy.
