Presenter Guidelines
2026 Wakefield Symposium
Recommended presentation format: PowerPoint, Google Slides, or PDF slides
Presenters will be emailed a Google folder to which they should upload their presentation by noon AKT on Friday, May 1. Please save your file using the format: LastName_Session# (for example, Smith_SessionIV).
Technical Information
- The meeting room will be equipped with a projector and PC laptop. A remote slide advancer (clicker) will also be available.
- Presenter view will not be available on the room computer during your talk. If you need to see notes while presenting, you are welcome to bring your own laptop to the podium.
- The venue will have internet available, but we do not advise relying on it for any critical components of your presentation.
- PowerPoint files will be downloaded and presented as PPTX files to help preserve formatting. Similarly, Google Slides presentations are expected to be presented in a web browser if the internet connection is stable, and backup copies will be downloaded in advance in case it is not.
- Audio capability will be available for presentations with sound.
Oral Presentations
Oral presentations are scheduled for 15-minute time slots. A maximum of 14-minutes is allotted to each presentation, plus 1-minute for transitions between speakers. Time limits will be enforced by a session moderator, who will signal when each speaker is approaching their time limit.
Questions will be held until a group panel discussion, which will follow each series of approximately six presentations. Each panel will be 30-minutes and feature an extended Q&A and discussion with presenters.
Lightning Presentations
Lightning presentations consist of three slides and limited to five minutes maximum. Time limits will be enforced by a session moderator, who will signal when each speaker is approaching their time limit. A Q&A with all lightning presenters will follow the presentations.
