Business of Fishing workshop
March 15, 9:00 am–4:00 pm AKDT
Free
The Alaska Sea Grant Business of Fishing workshop is a new one-day class offering commercial fishing business training in coastal communities around the state. It is designed for boat owners, permit holders and fishermen looking to upgrade their fishing operations and improve their financial management skills.
The workshop covers a range of topics in business and finance important for fishing operations, including tax strategy and organization, business and financial planning, and risk management.
This training grew out of the success from the Alaska Young Fishermen’s Summit (AYFS) business session. The Business of Fishing workshop expands on the AYFS training and brings it directly to fishermen in their hometowns.
This workshop will be held in Kodiak on March 15, from 9:00 to 4:00 at Fishermen’s Hall.
Free advance registration is required, and lunch is provided. Each class is limited to 20 participants.
Thank you to AgWest Farm Credit for their support of this workshop.
