Kodiak Area Marine Science Symposium 2024

April 23–26, 2024
Kodiak Marketplace
111 West Rezanof Drive
Kodiak, AK

Abstracts for oral and poster presentation are invited and should be submitted by March 15, 2024.

We are excited to announce the Kodiak Area Marine Science Symposium (KAMSS) returns this spring, marking our fifth regional symposium. This event, held every three years, brings together the Kodiak community and scientists to discuss important marine science and research impacting our well-being. We are pleased to meet in person again at the new Kodiak Marketplace.

Sponsored by Alaska Sea Grant, KAMSS provides a platform for scientists, researchers, educators, and community members to share their findings. The symposium helps residents understand how Kodiak's watershed and marine environments function and change, impacting our resources, lives, and livelihoods. It also encourages researchers to collaborate on integrated, cooperative, and community-inspired marine research.

KAMSS 2024 will feature oral and poster presentations spanning various aspects of Kodiak's marine environment. Embracing a cross-disciplinary approach, presentations will stimulate dialogue among various fields while facilitated discussions will be integrated throughout to encourage engagement.
