Bristol Bay marine safety training presentations

The Bristol Bay Economic Development Corporation (BBEDC), Alaska Marine Safety Education Association (AMSEA), and Alaska Sea Grant are offering a two-day online safety training for resident or part-time Bristol Bay fishermen and watercraft users.

Part one of this AMSEA water safety workshop, Thursday, August 13, will include lessons on the 7 steps to survival, survival kits, effects of alcohol on boating safety, and cold water drowning prevention.

Part two, Friday, August 14, includes lessons on cold water survival skills, personal flotation devices (PFDs), immersion suits, and hypothermia prevention and treatment.

This free training will be conducted by Zoom video conference, 10 a.m.–noon each day, and pre-registration is required. You can attend one or both 2-hour sessions.

For BBEDC program recipients, this training qualifies toward BBEDC training requirements.
