Kodiak Area Marine Science Symposium 2027
April 20–22, 2027
Kodiak Marketplace
111 West Rezanof Drive
Kodiak, Alaska
We are excited to announce the Kodiak Area Marine Science Symposium (KAMSS) returns this spring, marking our sixth regional symposium. This event, held every three years, brings together the Kodiak community and scientists to discuss important marine science and research impacting our well-being.Â
Sponsored by Alaska Sea Grant, KAMSS provides a platform for scientists, researchers, educators, and community members to share their findings. The symposium helps residents understand how Kodiak's watershed and marine environments function and change, impacting our resources, lives, and livelihoods. It also encourages researchers to collaborate on integrated, cooperative, and community-inspired marine research.
KAMSS 2027 will feature oral and poster presentations spanning various aspects of Kodiak's marine environment. Embracing a cross-disciplinary approach, presentations will stimulate dialogue among various fields while facilitated discussions will be integrated throughout to encourage engagement.
