This webinar will introduce Vibrio bacteria, covering key species, where they are found, and how they grow. We’ll discuss variations in pathogenicity and virulence, focusing on heightened risks for immunocompromised individuals, who are more vulnerable to severe illness or death.

We’ll examine how Vibrio interacts with shellfish, factors affecting retention, and methods for cleansing thermally abused shellfish. An overview of key regulations, including the ISSC, NSSP, and state requirements, will provide insight into compliance.

Finally, the webinar will address strategies for managing the press during outbreaks and protecting market confidence.
