$100 Registration fee

This hands-on, three-day workshop is designed to help Alaskans and Alaska businesses understand what’s involved in becoming a commercial seaweed processor. You’ll get practical guidance on permitting, regulations, equipment selection, food safety, business planning, and creating value-added products.

The workshop will cover topics outlined in the guide Seaweed Handling and Processing: Guidelines for Alaska, plus the latest science, insights, and best practices. Whether you’re new to the field or looking to expand your knowledge, this workshop will give you the tools and confidence to move forward.

Space is limited, with priority given to Alaskan residents, members of rural communities, and those active in the mariculture industry.

Additional workshop expenses, including travel and lodging, will be covered with support from the Alaska Mariculture Cluster.

Apply online by April 4 (no cost to apply).
