Shifting distributions and phenologies: implications for fisheries

The 2024 Wakefield Fisheries Symposium will bring together fishery researchers and managers to address how political decisions, jurisdictional arrangements, and survey management structures can adapt to environmental changes and shifting species distributions. Participants worldwide are invited to share case studies and contrast approaches in different regions.
All are invited to submit abstracts for oral presentations or poster presentations on research that might include, but is not limited to the following themes:
- Fish and shellfish species shifting distributions
- Fisheries sustainability and adapting management structures in a changing climate
- Human dimensions
- Modeling shifting distributions
Submitting abstracts
To contribute an oral or poster presentation, submit an abstract online no later than March 8, 2024. Abstracts must include:
- Author names, affiliation, city, country, and email.
- Title, 10 words or fewer.
- Type of presentation preferred (oral or poster).
- Text of abstract in 250 words or less; do not include any headings, tables, or figures.
Those who submit abstracts will be notified in early March about abstract acceptance. If your abstract is accepted for presentation, you must register by March 26 to secure a place on the program. Travel support applications for student presenters are available within the abstract submission form.
