DESCRIPTION:During this one-hour webinar hosted by Alaska Sea Grant\, representatives from the Alaska Department of Commerce\, Community\, and Economic Development discussed the Mariculture Revolving Loan Fund\, and answered questions. Download the presentation slides and watch the video. \n \nAlaska Sea Grant is hosting a webinar series\, in collaboration with the Kodiak Archipelago Leadership Institute\, for mariculture farmers\, nursery and hatchery operators\, and processors in Alaska on accessing capital for starting and expanding mariculture operations. This series will focus on mariculture business development programs and resources\, including grants and low-interest loans. Each one-hour webinar will include time for questions. \nWebinars will be held Thursdays at 10 am. SUMMARY:Seafood HACCP Segment 2 — Sept. 2022
DESCRIPTION:Alaska Sea Grant offers Seafood HACCP Segment 2 practical training via online video conferencing\, conducted at the specified time with a live instructor. \nThe class will cover the principles of HACCP and provide the tools and training to create a seafood HACCP plan. Students will need to register for and complete the Segment 1 training online prior to September 23\, 2022 through the National Seafood HACCP Alliance for Training and Education. The Segment 1 training has a separate registration and fee. \nYou can register here for your Segment 2 training using the button below\, prior to completing Segment 1\, just be sure to complete the Segment 1 training before September 23\, 2022. \nThis course meets the requirement for HACCP Segment 2. Participants will attend this HACCP training live\, using online video conferencing to complete the practical training session. The training will be conducted September 23\, 2022\, from 9 am to 4 pm. \nAll seafood processors in Alaska are required to have an approved Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan. This class prepares the participant to develop this plan. Class size is limited to 20 participants. DESCRIPTION:Day 1: 10:30 am–4:00 pm Alaska Time\nDay 2: 9:00 am–4:00 pm Alaska Time \nThe Alaska Climate Adaptation Community of Practice is open to all practitioners who are working with and in communities across Alaska to provide data\, decision tools\, technical tools\, funding\, and other types of support to address the changing climate. \nThis is an in-person event and travel support is available. You can request travel assistance as part of the online registration. \nPractitioners are embedded in agencies\, universities\, Tribes\, and local governments. SUMMARY:Training Alaska’s New Commercial Fishery Entrants: statewide strategy session
DESCRIPTION:This is a hybrid event\, offered online and in-person. \nAlaska Sea Grant is continuing its project to understand the training needs of new entrants into commercial fisheries in Alaska. We are wrapping up the assessment portion of this project and are moving toward implementation\, beginning with a strategy session among educators and training organizations serving new entrants. The strategy session will discuss the findings from our needs assessment and form strategies to meet these needs. \nWe will host this conversation virtually and in-person on September 30. Attendees can join us at the Alaska Sea Grant office conference room in Anchorage\, or online through Zoom. Registration is required for both in-person and online participation. In-person space is limited\, so if you plan to join us in Anchorage\, please register now. Zoom attendees will be sent a meeting link on September 28. You will be asked if you will be attending in-person or via Zoom during the registration process. \nInput from educators and training organizations serving new fishery entrants is particularly important to us. \nRegister for this strategy session
