SUMMARY:Sea Grant fellowship opportunities and experiences
DESCRIPTION:Alaska Sea Grant director Ginny Eckert will provide an overview and take questions about upcoming Alaska Sea Grant fellowship opportunities for graduate students\, including the Knauss Fellowship and Alaska Sea Grant State Fellowship. Prospective applicants can hear first-hand accounts from recent fellows about their experiences and ask questions. \nThe Sea Grant Knauss Fellowship provides a unique educational and professional experience to graduate students who have an interest in ocean\, coastal and Great Lakes resources and in the national policy decisions affecting those resources. The fellowship\, named after one of Sea Grant’s founders and former NOAA Administrator John A. Knauss\, matches highly qualified graduate students with “hosts” in the legislative and executive branch of government located in the Washington\, D.C. area\, for a one year paid fellowship. \nThe Alaska Sea Grant State Fellowship program  provides an opportunity to acquire on-the-job experience in the planning and implementation of marine resource policies and programs in Alaska. The program matches highly motivated graduate students and recent graduates with hosts in Alaska-based organizations for a 12-month paid fellowship. \nPresenters:\nGinny Eckert\, Alaska Sea Grant Director\nMaya Becker\, Sea Grant Knauss Fellow in Senator Murkowski’s office\nTav Ammu\, Alaska Sea Grant State Fellow\, Clean Harbors program \nUse the link below to register for the seminar series. The Sea Grant fellowships will be the topic for the seminar on Friday\, January 14\, 2022\, at 3 p.m. \nRegister for the webinar
