SUMMARY:Socially Distant and Locally Sourced: Selling Your Seafood Dockside
DESCRIPTION:The recording of the webinar is now available\, below. \n\nAre you considering alternative markets for your commercial catch in this period of social distancing? Increased interest in buying foods directly from the producer and other market changes caused by COVID-19 may present new opportunities for fishermen. \nJoin seafood and marketing experts from Alaska Sea Grant for a free lunchtime webinar for commercial fishermen\, covering the basics of one methods of reaching consumers directly: dockside sales. Simpler than some other forms of direct marketing\, dockside sales still require know-how and planning. \nWe’ll look at permits and what they cover\, marketing tips\, seafood quality and safety\, and issues specific to our current pandemic. \nAlaska Sea Grant published the first version of the Alaska Direct Marketing Manual in 1997 and has been supporting and informing direct marketers ever since. Join us for an online presentation and discussion with our experts from around the state.
