SUMMARY:AK On-Board Crewmember Training: Petersburg
DESCRIPTION: \n\n8:30 am – 5:00 pm\n\nJoin us to learn beginning crew skills\, marine safety\, and more\, and take advantage of the opportunity to talk with skippers.\n\nThe AK On-Board program is a series of regional hands-on training opportunities for beginning commercial fishermen. The program is led by Alaska Sea Grant\, Alaska Marine Safety Education Association\, Alaska Longline Fishermen’s Association\, Alaska Marine Conservation Council\, and regional partners to help new crewmembers gain basic crew skills\, learn about marine safety\, network with prospective employers\, and meet other people in the industry. This three-day workshop is regionally focused by our local planning committee and includes a mix of hands-on activities\, lectures\, discussion panels\, and more.\n\nLimited travel support up to $500 is available for rural Southeast Alaska residents.
